The perfect tubing conditions on the Frio River usually happen when water flows between 25 and 500 cubic feet per second (cfs). Here’s what that means for your float:

🚶 Low Flow (below 100 cfs) – Expect a slow ride with plenty of shallow spots where you might need to get out and walk your tube.

😊 Great Flow (100–300 cfs) – This is tubing sweet spot! The current moves you along at a nice pace, and most areas are deep enough to float comfortably without touching bottom.

⚡ Fast Flow (300–500 cfs) – The river moves quickly and can be exciting, but the faster current makes steering and navigating trickier, especially for kids or first-time tubers.

🌪 Very Fast Flow (above 500 cfs) – The water is strong and powerful. Extra caution is needed as the river can be dangerous at these levels.
